Albanian Islamic Cultural Center, Staten Island, New York condemns the terrorist attack in Manhattan that took the lives of eight people and left many injured in New York City and offers its sincere condolences and prayers to the families of the victims. Almighty God clearly in Chapter 5, Verse 32, the Quran says: "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land, were transgressors." We strongly believe that evil has no race or religion, and we condemn it in strongest terms. We continue to pray and work with everyone in our city and beyond to build bridges of understanding and cooperation and to make a positive impact and make sure safety and stability of our City and our Country. Albanian Islamic Cultural Center calls on all faith and political leaders and actors to stand united against these acts of violent extremism that aim to divide our society and cause harm to innocent people. We would like to extend our gratitude to Mayor Bill deBlasio, NYPD and first responders for their professionalism and expediency in asserting that we are all New Yorkers and will work together to keep our city safe.
