Celebrating Kosova’s Independence at AICC
March1, 2008, Albanians at AICC celebrated Kosova’s Independence. The happiness and joy was obvious on everybody’s faces, Albanians celebrating with pride as well as their friends who supported Albanian case in Kosova. Inside AICC you can see almost everybody wearing Albanian national colors (black and red) also some of them even wore white hats and Albanian outfit in honor of the Albanian flag.
This historical event at AICC was moderated by Brother Ferid Bedrolli, who greeted and thanked everybody for being part of this auspicious celebration. “Thank you for your participation and also I pray to Allah ( swt) to reward you and your family for every thing you have done for Kosova’s cause, and let me congratulate everybody here for the Independence of Kosova. Everybody here has worked hard supporting our cause, and Alhamdulilah that we lived long enough to see Kosova free and independent. Allahu Akbar.
Dear brothers and sisters, our cause lasted so long, our nation (Albanians in Kosova) has been under Serbian occupation for more than a century. How many generations they have been trying to liberate Kosova and that did not happen, but by the end of 20 century sons of Kosova created their force UCK/KLA that made this day possible with the help of Almighty Allah and the good people around the world and especially US help and support. We can say that Kosova’s Independence is occasion to be celebrated by all those who supported Kosova in a very difficult time.
We thank Allah ( swt) for His bounties and blessings in our life and one of those blessings is definitely to celebrate Kosova’s Independence, also we thank people of USA as well as USA government for their support as well we thank all nations that have supported the right cause of Kosova. Dear brother, le me introduce to you one of those who has contributed a lot to Kosova’s cause, and he is brother Shefki Mexhuani, general director of humanitarian foundation “Vendlindja Therret” and one of the founders of ATLANTIK brigade here in USA, who went back in Kosova and fought along side with UCK and Nato forces to liberate Kosova from Serbian occupation. Br. Shefki came today to celebrate with use and to share the joy.
Brother Shefki Mexhuani: Dear brothers and sisters respected guests and supporters of Kosova’s independence, let me start by thanking you for all of your support and help you have gave to Kosova when Kosova needed that the most, and let me congratulate you for the great result of that support which is “ The Independence of Kosova”.
Dear brother, Kosova has a very painful history, so many generations have suffered and lost their lives during a bloodshed regime of Serbia, Albanians they love freedom more than any thing else, they never gave up for freedom and getting back their country. Hundreds of thousands of martyrs-shaheeds they sacrifice their lives and today we celebrate all these efforts of our brave nation. We acknowledge today the sacrifice of Adem Jashari, the legend commander of UCK/KLA and his family who died for Kosova, also we acknowledge other martyrs who sacrificed their lives; what is the most precious so we today can celebrate.
Dear brother I see Feb17, 08 like Nov28, 1912, when all Albanians celebrated the independence of Albania, these days all Albanians they celebrate together this significant event. The day that Kosova’s Prime Minister Mr. Hashim Thaqi declaring Kosova’s Independence more than 3 million people were waiting in Kosova to start the celebration.
Dear brothers and sisters, Albanians have told the world that they know to create the state and are able to govern according to democratic rules, and also Albanians told the world that they know how to celebrate peacefully, imagine all these numbers have celebrated in blackout (in darkness) because Kosova does not have enough electrical power, and yet not even one incident did not occur.
Dear brothers and sisters, I congratulate you all for Kosova’s Independence, hopefully we will only celebrate in coming times and I pray that this will be last war for our nation.
I would like to thank everybody who helped Kosova in difficult times, and here I would like to say that Albanian Diaspora was very active helping Kosova, and from Diaspora we can say freely that Diaspora in USA was the most influential and helped the most, and I would like to bring to your attention that AICC was the beigest helper, no one from Albanian institutions and Albanian Centers has done more for Kosova, may Allah bless you all who helped AICC to help Kosova. After AICC who helped Kosova the most was foundation “ Me pamvaresoni” ( Help me to be Independent) and third one was foundation “ Plava dhe Gusia”.
Before I end my speech let me thank personally Hafiz Dhulkarnein Vardari, Imam and director of AICC who was helping so much, that even when his son (OmerYusuf) was born, H. Dhulkarnieni was in Kosova’s borders helping those who liberate Kosova from occupation, also let me thank Br. Ferid Bedrolli who was right hand of H. Dhulkarneini and also br. Ramiz Duka who left behind their business and families and focused on Kosova.
I also would like to take this opportunity to thank USA government and USA people who help Kosova in very difficult days. Once again “Congratulation Kosova’s Independence”.
Next Speaker was br. Ramiz Duka, who thanked Allah first and prayed for martyrs of Kosova and thanked every single person who helped Kosova and Albanian people to reach this wonderful and tremendous victory.
Dear brothers and sisters, let me praise Allah (swt) for this wonderful victory, let me thank all those who fought for Kosova, and let me thank and pray for those mothers that sent their sons in a path of liberating Kosova from Serbian occupation.
Brothers and sisters, today we should celebrate by all meanings because our nation has suffered and struggled a lot and this victory is for Kosovars and for everybody who has contributed for this day. Let us celebrate but let us never forget the past, and let us never be in the same days that we were before the Kosova’s independence.
Br. Ramiz Duka recited a poem that speaks how an old man adviced his sons before he dies. I have lived so long, till the day that there were no teeth left in my mouth, and all this in Serbian slavery, my sons this you can not call it life, the only way to live in this world with dignity is to fight against Serbian occupation and get your country back.
Although the poem was in Albanian language, but the way that br. Ramiz was reciting it made even non-Albanians understand it and gave him a very big applause.
Next Speaker was H. Dhulkarnein Vardari, Imam and the director of AICC.
All praises to Allah (swt), His blessings and mercy be upon our Prophet Muhammad A.S. and upon all those who followed him with righteousness till the Day of Judgment, Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon all those who died for Kosova, and upon all those who helped Kosova to celebrate this day.
Dear brothers and sisters, I can say today that we are very lucky people; you know how many Albanians died throughout the century for Kosova and how many Albanian they have worked hard for this day, but unfortunately they are not here today to celebrate it, Allah has chosen us today to celebrate it, is there any other joy bigger than celebrating Kosova’s independence?!
Dear brothers and sisters, we Muslims have the month of Ramadan, we fast and struggle in that month, and after long month of struggle comes eid-feast and we celebrate it. Those who have fasted for Kosova (who worked so Kosovo can be free) today are eid we celebrate. How lucky are those they worked hard for Kosovo and today they live to celebrate this victory.
Alhamdulillah Rabbi Aleman.
We here in AICC have worked like everybody who loved Kosova, I would not talk today what AICC has done with your help, our effort is recognized by Allah (swt) that is important, and of course is acknowledged by those who want to know, and as far of those they do not want to know what we have done, I believe even if you bring to them angel Jibriil to tell them they still do not want to know.
I congratulate the president of Kosova Mr. Fatmir Sejdiu and Mr. Hashim Thaqi the Kosova’s Prime minister, and Mr. Jakup Krasniqi, president of Kosova’s Parliament, every minister of Ksova and every member of Kosova’s Parliament and also I congratulate Grand Mufti of Kosova Mr. Naim Ternava and all Kosovars and Allbanians and as well all those who helped Kosova’s independence.
I Thank USA government, Pres. Bush, and also thank former president Boll Clinton for his role in Kosova.
I pray that leaders of Kosova will lead with justice, treat everybody in Kosova with respect and justice. I hope that Kosova leaders will do what ever is in their hand to make Kosova strong economically, politically and militarily…
I pray that this celebration will go on, and peace will dominate every where and Kosova war was last war for our nation. Wa Alhamdulilahi Rabbil Alemiin.
After Imam Dhulkarnien speech students of Miraj Islamic School they recite some poems, some anasheed and some songs dedicated to Kosova’s Independency.
After this program AICC has served dinner for all participants (more than 300 people).
